Please note from Monday, 3rd June 2019, Severnvale Surgery’s opening hours will be changing temporarily to the following:
Monday | 08:00-18:00 |
---|---|
Tuesday | 08:00-13:00 |
Wednesday | 08:00-13:00 |
Thursday | 08:00-18:30 |
Friday | 08:00-18:00 |
Saturday | Closed |
Sunday | Closed |
After consulting with our Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and our Patient Participation Group (PPG), we have made a decision to temporarily change the opening hours at Severnvale Surgery.
Starting from the 3rd June 2019 we will no longer run surgeries at Severnvale Surgery for two afternoons and one morning per week. Severnvale Surgery will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and on Thursday mornings.
When Severnvale Surgery is closed you will still be able to call and speak to one of our receptionists from 08:00 18:30, order prescriptions via the prescription ordering line, and access appointments at either of our two other sites; Rosebank Surgery on Stroud Road and Kingsway Health Centre.
The surgery closure sessions were chosen after advice from our PPG. It was felt that as Monday was the busiest day, we should not be closed then and Friday afternoon was helpful for patients wanting to collect medication before the weekend.
Since opening Kingsway Health Centre late last year we now have nearly 25000 patients across three surgeries.
We want to make the best use of our resources and feel the decision allows us to do this, by consolidating our fantastic clinical team.
Most practices that operate across a number of different sites offer a reduced service at sites other than the main one. Since the opening of Kingsway Health Centre we have kept all surgeries open all day, but on some days, have had reduced or no clinical staff available at one of the sites. We feel that it is best to close Severnvale Surgery, rather than have the surgery open with no clinical staff available. However we do believe this is a temporary solution as we have recently been successful in recruiting two new GPs who will be starting with us in the near future.
We will publicise these changes in the surgeries and via the text messaging service, to ensure that as many patients know about the changes before the 3rd June.
